Pre-call briefs

Everything your rep needs, 30 minutes early

Quotd reads your CRM, past call recordings, email threads, and Slack conversations, then distills all of it into a single brief. It arrives as a Slack DM and a HubSpot sidebar card before your rep picks up the phone.

What is in a pre-call brief

Every brief follows the same structure so reps can scan it in under a minute. Here is what each section contains:

The One Thing

The single most important objective for this call. Quotd looks at where the deal sits in your pipeline, what happened in the last conversation, and what changed since then to determine what matters most right now.

Key Context

A short summary of what happened in prior calls and what changed since last contact. New stakeholders, pricing discussions, competitor mentions, timeline shifts. Anything the rep should know walking in.

Anticipated Questions

What the prospect is likely to ask, based on where the conversation left off and what is happening in their world. Each question comes with a suggested answer grounded in your deal data.

Unresolved Items

Open threads from prior calls that need follow-up. Things your team promised to send, questions that went unanswered, items that were tabled for later. Quotd pulls these from call transcripts and email threads so nothing falls through the cracks.

Suggested Talk Track

An opening approach based on deal history. Not a script, just a starting point so your rep does not have to figure out how to kick things off.

About the People

Who is on the call, their role, their history with your team, and anything notable Quotd has picked up (title change, recent LinkedIn activity, new to the deal).

How Quotd builds a brief

1

A call appears on your calendar. Quotd reads the meeting invite and identifies the attendees.

2

It finds the associated deal in HubSpot and pulls every prior touchpoint: call recordings, email threads, Slack messages, CRM notes, and deal properties.

3

All of that gets compressed into the brief structure above. The entire process runs automatically. Your reps do not open Quotd, do not paste anything, do not click any buttons.

4

30 minutes before the call, the brief is delivered to Slack, HubSpot sidebar, and HubSpot timeline simultaneously.

When briefs arrive

Briefs are delivered 30 minutes before the scheduled call time. This gives your rep enough time to scan it without it getting buried in earlier messages.

The brief shows up in three places simultaneously: as a Slack DM, as a HubSpot sidebar card on the deal, and as a timeline note on the contact record. Your rep can read it wherever they already are.

Viewing briefs inside Quotd

While reps get briefs in Slack and HubSpot, every brief is also stored in the Quotd dashboard. Click Briefs in the left sidebar to see a chronological list of all generated briefs. Each entry shows the deal name, attendees, and timestamp.

Click into any brief to see the full version with all six sections expanded. This is useful for managers who want to review what their reps are seeing before calls.
